“Wait, so you’re saying you drowned when you were fifteen? And someone actually pushed you into the water?”
Lucinda nodded.
“Yes, that was what happened. I lost my memory after that incident. It wasn’t until our wedding night that everything came flooding back. You see, you purposely stayed late at the office, and Eleanor came and confronted me that night, saying hurtful things.
Then, out of nowhere, she pushed me into the pool, and I hit my head on the coral. After I woke up, memories started coming back to me.”
The weight of what happened three years ago filled Nathan with guilt.
He held Lucinda closer, hoping to provide comfort.
Unaware of his guilt, Lucinda continued, “But I still can’t fully remember what exactly happened and why I lost my memory. Sometimes, certain things trigger fragments of that accident, but they’re all jumbled up.”
Nathan pondered for a moment and put forth a theory.
“Is it possible that your memory loss was caused by some kind of drug you were injected with?”
“It’s a possibility,” she replied, placing her hands on her chest as if feeling her own heartbeat. Then she turned around and nestled into his embrace.

“I’ve been having nightmares lately, and I always feel restless, Like something terrible is about to happen.”
His unease grew, and he couldn’t help but feel anxious.
In an effort to soothe her, he suggested, “Maybe it’s because you’ve been working too hard and under a lot of pressure lately. Try not to dwell on it too much. How about you take some days off?”
Lucinda pondered the idea and responded, “I can’t afford to do that.
I still have so much work to finish, and I won’t feel at ease until it’s done.”
With that, she lay on his lap and rested her back against him. She casually brushed her hair forward, exposing her neck and back. Her hands were folded beneath her, and she lazily rested her head on them.
In a soft voice, she requested, “Nate, I just had a nightmare and my whole body feels sore. Can you please massage my shoulders? I could really use a good massage.”
Nathan was stunned and found himself gazing at her from head to toe, particularly captivated by her enticing curves.
He swallowed hard.
And he felt a surge of heat throughout his body.
Leaning closer, he whispered in her ear, “Do you have any idea how irresistible you are?”
Lucinda turned to face him, raising an eyebrow.
